fonts-lohit-deva software package provides Lohit TrueType font for Devanagari script, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-lohit-deva
fonts-lohit-deva is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-lohit-deva package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-lohit-deva *
You will get with fonts-lohit-deva package name, version, architecture and description in a table
